We are not all meant to a have one life long relationship and that’s okay. But when the relationship ends both parties are affected deeply and experience a gamut of emotions from failure to relief.

Not everyone asks for the freedom from the relationship and feel powerless to stop what is happening. However once you can move through the pain, blame and guilt, there is a new life waiting.

When children are involved these feelings are even more intense because as parents our natural instinct is to protect them for the pain we are feeling. It is important that we assume the role as the adult and place the children’s interests first. How the parents deal with the break up will strongly impact on the child and their future direction in life. Children can cope with almost anything as long as they see that you are okay.
